Message from the Associate Dean

The American University of Barbados, School of Medicine offers an Integrated, Problem & System Based Learning platform to its students. Our academic program features an enhanced integration of foundational sciences and clinical activities which teaches medical students to "think like physicians". With the help of a caring and dedicated faculty our students are guided to achieve all essential milestones with ease.

The clinical teaching takes place at the top hospitals in the USA and other countries. Active participation of the students in extracurricular activities such as health camps and community-based events, provides substantive opportunities for service learning.

AUB's on-campus free medical clinic serves the local Barbadian community by providing convenient access to healthcare. This community clinic not only provides early clinical experience to our students but also gives them an opportunity to work in a team-based, interdisciplinary setting and gain experience during the early years of medical training.
